Small scales are good for sophisticated business products, medium scales works for leisure consumer products and websites, and the large scales can be considered for websites with high visual impact. If you are in charge of creating a type system, this tool is here to assist you. The intention behind this project is to provide a one stop tool for designing a type hierarchy which covers: font size, line height and letter spacing. Another project objective is to provide the computational models, for the curious minds and for those interested to implement them.
Type scales were made popular by Tim Brown’s work on Modular Scale, which raised the bar on web typography. Then comes the Jeremy Church initiative with his Type Scale tool, with its own contribution in spreading the word. Finally we have this project, which covers more than font size, with the intention to provide the complete solution for those interested in designing a type system.
